Exploring Edmonds, Lynnwood & Mountlake Terrace, One Cup at a Time

Join me as I explore and share about local coffee shops

By Michelle Hoffman, Publisher Macaroni KID North Sound, wa April 2, 2026

In case you hadn't noticed yet, I love coffee!!!! And, I enjoy supporting local coffee places while enjoying my coffee.

Almost every Wednesday I take a few hours while my husband is off work for a ME day. I pick a coffee shop in Lynnwood, Mountlake Terrace, and/or Edmonds to try out. And, usually I try to get a small walk in and a visit to one of the local libraries. I post about the ME days on Macaroni KID North Sound Facebook each week.

I wanted to share a bit more about the coffee places I visit though, hence this article was born. I'm just telling a little bit about my own experience at the coffee shops I visit. And, as I try new places almost weekly, that means this article will be updated often.

Cafe Lilia

This new coffee cafe in Mountlake Terrace did not disappoint! I enjoyed my scone and latte in the serene atmosphere they created. And, I was able to get a lot of focused work done, even when there were other people around.

Note to self: This is a great spot to visit when I don't have time to drive too far away from home! Close to the freeway for easy access!

Cafe Louvre

This Edmonds cafe is warm and inviting!  The couches by the fireplace made me want to curl up with a good book and stay for hours. I enjoyed a sweet treat, and got some work done instead.

Note to self : Next time visit when it is warmer weather and enjoy the outdoor seating.

Common Grounds Coffee

Located inside the Edmonds Waterfront Center, with amazing views of the water. I had a latte and a sandwich, while I worked away on adding events to the website. Even shared my space with a couple other locals working like I was.

Note to self: Lunchtime in the center is popular! There were many groups enjoying the lunch and visiting after. It was great to see so much activity, but next time I will go a little later in the day for a bit more calm.

Haven Cafe

I enjoyed an iced vanilla latte while sitting at a bar window to get a little work done. There was plenty of room on the bar, and there were at least 5 of us working alongside each other.

Plenty of seating at this new cafe in Lynnwood, including comfy couches and many tables. The couch area looked really cozy, and was perfect for moms with littles. I saw a few different groups hanging out there while I was there.

Note to self: Bring ear buds in order to focus on what I am doing instead of the fun and conversations around me.

He Brews Coffee

This Lynnwood coffee spot was perfect for an afternoon work session.  Grabbed a vanilla latte (yes, that is my go-to drink), and got to work.
I wasn't the only one either, there were many others working away on laptops.  And, the fireplace near the front looked really cozy for a reading session.

Note to self :  Return to this spot soon!

Mel & Mia's

The quiche and latte I had for breakfast was AMAZING! Mel & Mia's is obviously an Edmonds local favorite as the tables were almost all full. While I didn't break out my laptop, I was able to get a bit of work done while I was there.

The tea room towards the back got my attention too!  I love sitting down for a tea time, the cute finger foods are so fun.

Note to self: Next time, make it a coffee date and bring a friend.

Narista Juice Bar & Coffee

I visited this Lynnwood shop on a dreary Sunday afternoon. It was a pleasant place to spend some time to myself. The owner was very friendly and inviting.
The latte and crossiant I had was delicious! It was pretty quiet and I was able to get some reading done.

Note to self: Next visit try one of the fruit smoothies!

POMB Coffee

Peace of Mind Brewery & Coffee is a great place to be during their coffee hours!  I'm sure it's a good place in the evening too, but this article is about coffee, not brews.

Gabrielle was very friendly, welcoming, and made a great latte! The banana bread was amazing too.

The booths are set up with power cords to share among them. Perfect for someone wanting to get a work done away of the office. And, with a pool table, a foosball table, shuffleboard, and a video game area it's a great place to hang out with friends.

Note to self: This is a perfect place to have our next craft event!

SKOG Haus Coffee & Tea

The cozy atmosphere in this Mountlake Terrace gem made it easy for me to focus on my work. There were other people coming in and out, but it wasn't overwhelming or distracting for me. The latte and strawberry treat I had were delicious!

Note to self: Give myself a little extra time to walk the fenced path behind the building by the parking garage next time.
